German F126 Frigate Program Faces Major Delays and Costs

In January 2020, a consortium led by the Dutch group Damen was selected by the German Ministry of Defense to construct four new multi-purpose frigates, known as MKS 180 (Mehrzweckkampfschiff 180 or F126 class), under a contract valued at €5 billion. This decision came at the expense of TKMS (formerly ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems).
