In 2021, Greece placed an order for three Frégates de Défense et d’Intervention (FDI) “Belh@rra” from the French company Naval Group for approximately 3 billion euros. This amount includes the Operational Maintenance (MCO) for three years, along with the delivery of MU-90 torpedoes, Aster 30 surface-to-air missiles, and Exocet anti-ship missiles.

The Greek government has now approved the acquisition of a fourth French naval frigate, further enhancing its naval capabilities and strategic defense posture.
