With two aircraft carriers in service – the INS Vikramaditya, acquired from Russia, and the INS Vikrant, of indigenous design – the Indian Navy currently operates only around thirty MiG-29K/KUB carrier-based fighters. These aircraft face availability issues due to challenges in spare parts procurement and reliability concerns.
