According to Admiral Daryl Caudle, Chief of Naval Operations, the US Navy is set to announce the selected contractor for the development and production of its sixth-generation carrier-based fighter, known as the F/A-X, in August. The decision will be between Northrop Grumman and Boeing, as Lockheed Martin has been eliminated from consideration.
