On May 24, following the order of a fourth Frigate for Defense and Intervention (FDI – Amiral Ronarc’h class) from the French Naval Group, the Greek government confirmed its intention to acquire two second-hand multi-mission frigates (FREMM) from Italy. The Government Council for Defense and Foreign Affairs (KYSEA) has approved the purchase of these two frigates.

Greece has selected Thales to modernize the combat system and sensors of its Hydra-class frigates, enhancing their operational capabilities and ensuring they meet contemporary naval warfare standards.
