Since its implementation in 2021 aboard surveillance frigates, offshore patrol vessels, and certain naval lighthouses, the Système de mini-drones de la Marine (SMDM) has proven to be highly effective. Developed by Survey Copter, a subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters, the system consists of a control station and two deployable Aliaca drones.
