During discussions regarding the Military Programming Law [LPM] 2024-30, Sébastien Lecornu, then Minister of the Armed Forces, stated that he had requested the Historical Defense Service to propose “innovative” names that reflect France’s history for the naming of future vessels in the National Navy.
