Launched in June 2022, approximately seven years after the commencement of its construction, China’s third aircraft carrier, designated as Type 003 and named CNS Fujian, successfully completed its first sea trial in May 2024. This trial reportedly proceeded without any issues, leading to the vessel’s official commissioning into active service.
