Navy Deploys E-2C Hawkeye on Charles de Gaulle for First Time

The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is theoretically equipped with two E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft as part of its air group, out of the three operated by the 4F Flotilla of the French Navy. However, this has not always been the case. During the Arromanches 2015 mission, conducted in the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, the deployment of these aircraft was not realized.

For the first time, the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has successfully deployed three E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft.
